2016 Nissan NV Dashboard Light Guide

2016 Nissan NV Dashboard Light Guide

It’s stressful when a strange dashboard light appears on your 2016 Nissan NV. Luckily, Concordville Nissan has put together a dashboard light guide to help Philadelphia, West Chester, and North Wilmington drivers figure out what their NVs are trying to tell them.

If your Nissan needs service right away, schedule a service appointment with the experts at Concordville Nissan.

Here’s our dashboard light guide for the 2016 Nissan NV:

  • Anti-Lock Braking System Warning Light

The letters ABS will appear if the NV is experiencing an issue with its anti-lock brakes. Have a mechanic inspect your braking system.

  • Brake Warning Light

This looks like the word BRAKE or a circle inside parentheses with an exclamation point. It appears when brake fluid is low, the warning system isn’t working correctly, or the parking brake is engaged. If your parking brake is off and this light doesn’t go away, schedule a maintenance appointment with a Nissan dealer.

  • Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light

This looks like an oil can and appears when the engine oil pressure is low. Driving with this light on is extremely dangerous, so pull over to a safe spot, turn off your NV, and call roadside assistance immediately.

  • Malfunction Indicator Light

This looks like an engine and appears if there’s an issue with the NV’s emissions. Have a mechanic inspect the NV for any mechanical issues.

  • Low Tire Pressure Warning Light

The low tire pressure warning light looks like a horseshoe with an exclamation point. At least one of the NV’s tires is low on pressure, so have a Nissan dealership refill its tires with air.

  • Master Warning Light

This looks like a triangle with an exclamation point. It could appear for several reasons, so it’s best to have a Nissan dealer inspect your NV for possible mechanical issues or necessary repairs.

  • Charge Warning Light

This symbol looks like a battery with plus and minus signs. If it appears on your dashboard, pull over and stop the NV immediately. There’s an issue with its battery or charging system, and your vehicle might break down if you continue driving.

  • Tow Mode ON Indicator Light (if Equipped)

The word TOW will appear on your NV’s dashboard if the tow mode is on.

  • Supplemental Air Bag Warning Light

This looks like someone sitting in a chair with a circle in their lap. If it stays illuminated for more than 7 seconds after starting the NV, at least one airbag needs service. Schedule a maintenance appointment with a Nissan dealership as soon as you can.

  • Low Fuel Warning Light (Plus Chime)

A black dot will appear on the Nissan NV’s dashboard if its fuel level is low. Make sure that you fill your fuel tank ASAP.
